About
Hi Gorgeous - Welcome to Goldie Pottery Studio,
I’m Aleshia, owner of Goldie, ceramic artist & dirt enthusiast.
Goldie is a tiny pottery studio in the beautiful Barossa Valley. Goldie workshops are an opportunity to play and create and gather and s l o w d o w n. I'd love to help you experience the mind-body interconnectedness that clay facilitates- this is the whole reason that Goldie was born
I wanted to be able to create, and help others to create in a space that felt safe to play, to make a mess and to connect with the amazingly creative and magical community in the Barossa.
I love to create using clay, it’s such a beautiful, tactile medium that feels incredibly grounding to use. I still pinch myself that this is my full time gig, and I’m wildly grateful to have you all along for the ride.
I hope to see you all in the studio with dirty hands & a clear mind soon!
FAQ's
Do I need experience with clay to come to a workshop?
No! All of Goldie classes are beginner friendly. Even the term classes are designed to help you build up your skills over the course. If you'd like to accelerate your skills, I recommend booking a one-on-one class.
What do I bring along to my class?
You might get a little dirty during your class so you're welcome to bring along your own apron and hand towel, some water, and clothes that you aren't worried about getting dirty. Please do not bring any food or drinks (including alcohol) into the studio.
Can I bring someone that hasn't booked?
The studio is very small, holding only 10 creative babes at a time so you do need to book a spot. If you do want to make any last minute changes to your booking, just email or DM me and I'll help wherever I can.
Can I book a class for my children?
This is an adults only space due to the fragile nature of the products being produced and sold in store. I want everyone to be able to fully engage in their class so I do ask that you leave your little ones at home. I am happy to accept bookings for those 13+ if they are accompanied by an adult.
When are your public classes?
I am currently running social clay sessions every second weekend- alternating Saturday & Sunday. There are no minimum participants required for this class, so you can go ahead and book just for yourself or up to 10 people.
What happens to my piece after my class?
Your piece will need to air dry for a week before it goes into the kiln for its first firing. It will then be dipped in glaze (shiny stuff that makes the piece waterproof and food safe) and fired in the kiln again. This entire process can take more than a month, and I will contact you and let you know when your unique piece of art is ready for you to collect. I can also post your piece out to you at your cost.
Can I cancel my booking?
All bookings are final. No refunds or exchanges are given if you choose to cancel your workshop or class. No change of time, type of class or number or participants permitted.
